Native grasses provide strong grazing opportunities, while a small field on the west end of the ranch offers an ideal location for planting food plots or crops for livestock and wildlife.
INFRASTRUCTURE
The Golden Eagle Ranch has an excellent interior road system with crushed rock roads and drainage pipes installed in key locations to help minimize erosion and maintain accessibility throughout the property. The ranch is divided into two main pastures plus a smaller “trap” pasture. Water is abundant with the Colorado River, six earthen ponds (tanks), and a water well serving the home and livestock pens. Multiple tanks are stocked with fish, creating additional recreational value.

All interior home furnishings and furniture convey with the sale, making this an exceptional turnkey opportunity.
Additional improvements include a large enclosed shop with concrete flooring, ample storage for vehicles and equipment, a dedicated room for hunting and fishing gear, extensive covered shed space, and a quality set of pipe livestock pens.
All large farm and ranch equipment is available for purchase. A detailed list of heavy equipment and farm implements will be included in the information packet presented to potential buyers.
WILDLIFE
The ranch is low fenced and surrounded by thousands of acres of neighboring low-fenced ranches, allowing wildlife to roam freely throughout the area. The property supports an exceptional population of Whitetail Deer, Rio Grande Turkey, Feral Hogs, Dove, Ducks, and occasional exotics. The ranch comes ready to hunt with deer blinds, deer feeders, and improved fields already in place.
Fishing opportunities are equally impressive. Enjoy casting a line in the stocked tanks or fish a stretch of the Colorado River that is seldom pressured by anyone other than the owners. Big yellow catfish are ready and waiting to be caught.
RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
The versatility of The Golden Eagle Ranch is what makes it truly special. Whether your interests include hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, exploring, searching for Indian artifacts, ranching, or simply enjoying the outdoors with family and friends, this property delivers. San Saba County - Farm To Market 2732, San Saba, TX
$6500/acre, one of the most affordable ranches in the Texas Hill Country!
Location: Wallace Creek Ranch is in the heart of the Texas Hill Country just a short drive from the small town of San Saba, Texas (pop. 3117) known as the pecan capital of the world. Wallace Creek Ranch, all 860 acres, is just 7 miles west-southwest of San Saba. Though peacefully secluded, WCR is surprisingly accessible to some of the larger cities of the State. The vibrant capital of Austin is just 112 miles away, while the rich heritage of San Antonio lies 147 miles to the south, and Fort Worth the gateway to North Texas is 164 miles to the northeast. Whether you're seeking a weekend getaway or a long-term land investment, this location provides the perfect balance of convenience and solitude.
Description: Wallace Creek Ranch is more than just a pretty landscape-its a fully functioning cattle operation, set up for efficiency, animal welfare, and long-term sustainability. Seven cross-fenced pastures span the rolling landscape, each one with its own water supply. The ranch is supported by three water wells, one of which is a artesian (naturally flowing without pumping) well-a rare and valuable asset. The other two wells are in place and functional, although their current output is undetermined. The Hickory Underground Aquifer a vital regional water source- is believed to lie beneath the ranch, offering potential for long-term water security. Approximately 140 acres are planted in coastal Bermuda grass with another 70 acres of Tifton. A very well-maintained set of working pens and one trap ensure the property is ready for serious ranching operations from day one.
Elevation: Knob Hill stands proudly at 1,455 feet, the highest elevation on the property. From its summit, you're greeted with panoramic views that stretch across the San Saba countryside, showcasing the natural beauty and undulating terrain of this special part of Texas. The land gently descends to 1,229 feet near a seasonal creek, offering both variety in landscape and natural drainage key feature for healthy pastures and water retention.
Soils: The soils of WCR are both diverse and productive. Roughly 60% of the land is made up of Smithwick clay, a sandy-clay mix dominated by clay, ideal for holding moisture and supporting robust root systems. The remainder consists of Frio silty clay loam, a fertile and well-draining soil that has already seen success with improved grasses. Whether your goals include livestock, hay production, or future crop rotation, this land is ready to produce.
Water: In a state where water is one of the most valuable resources, WCR delivers in spades. In addition to the three water wells, the property features three scenic ponds that collect rain runoff and provide year-round(most years!) access for cattle and wildlife alike. Wallace Creek, a charming wet-weather waterway, winds through approximately 3,500 feet of the ranch, with both sides of the creek under ownership.
Along the banks of this creek, the historic remnants of an old dam can still be found, believed to be the foundation of a once-operational grist mill. This quiet, rustic detail adds a unique historical flavor and a sense of timelessness to the property.
Wildlife: For those who cherish wildlife, Wallace Creek Ranch is nothing short of a natural refuge. Its diverse habitat supports a thriving population of white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, bobwhite quail, mourning doves, and feral hogs. Common predators like coyotes, raccoons, and both red and gray foxes roam the land as well. Birdwatchers and photographers will find themselves captivated by caracaras, owls, and other native bird species, while the ponds and creek beds attract a vibrant variety of waterfowl, especially during seasonal migrations.
This is not just a cattle ranchits an ecosystem, a living landscape for hunters, conservationists, and nature lovers to enjoy and preserve.
Improvements: Essential utilities are already in place, with electric power available and functional water wells ready to serve your operational or residential needs. A small but tidy cabin resides on the ranch. The ranch is easily accessed via FM 2732 of San Saba County Road 306, ensuring smooth entry for trailers, equipment, and guests.
Another important existing feature is the fact that the ranch was upgraded to a robust perimeter fence, constructed in 2019, giving you peace of mind and minimal maintenance for years to come.
Summary: Whether you're looking to expand your ranching operation, create a private recreational retreat, or secure a prime piece Texas Hill Country real estate for future generations, Wallace Creek Ranch offers both the canvas and the inspiration. With its combination of functional improvements, natural beauty, abundant water, and rich Texas history, this ranch is more than landit's a legacy in the making.
Financial: The seller will provide a basic title policy and existing survey. If the current agricultural use of the property ceases after the sale for any reason, or if the buyer does not file Form 50-167 Application for 1-d-1 (Open Space) appraisal in a timely manner, and the appraisal district begins valuing the property at market value rather than production value, the seller will not be held responsible for rollback taxes for any of the current or preceding five years. The buyer hereby releases the seller from any and all liability.

San Saba County - County Road 266, Richland Springs, TX
FOUR OAKS RANCH ON ANTELOPE CREEK offers history, diversity and a unique water resource. Productive ground once in cultivated fields and coastal pasture now provides native mesquite-cover habitat while a mixture of mature oaks shade the field perimeters and line the creek bottom. Antelope Creek provides an interesting drainage feature and wildlife corridor as it meanders through the landscape. While most of its sandy gravel bottom carries wet-weather flows, the northern stretch of the creek is fed a steady stream of water by an artesian well located on the north central portion of the property. Earthen stock tanks are distributed across the southern portion providing additional surface water for both livestock and wildlife. Four Oaks Ranch offers food plot and forage production potential to suit your recreational and livestock endeavors along with opportunity to expand surface water amenities.
LOCATION/FRONTAGE: The property is located on the west side of County Road 266 approximately 0.5 mile south of Ranch Road 765 and about 10 miles northwest of Richland Springs in San Saba County, Texas. The property has about 5,420 feet of frontage along County Road 266.
LEGAL: 395.23 acres out of the Fisher & Miller Survey No. 630, A-299 and the Frederich Kneese Survey No. 86, A-772 in San Saba County, Texas.
UTILITIES: Richland Springs Special Utility District (SUD) maintains a 4-inch water line along CR 266 with a meter already supplying water to the property. An artesian well is located on the north central portion of the property, offering additional possibilities.
SCHOOL DISTRICT: Richland Springs ISD
TAXES: Agricultural use valuation on 394.23 acres with a grazing tenant in place. (San Saba CAD Parcel Nos. 1037, 2981 & 2982).
MINERALS (OIL & GAS): The property has no existing, or historic oil or gas production with minimal mineral activity present in the surrounding neighborhood. Owner is believed to have a partial interest in mineral estate, and conveyance is negotiable.
FLOOD PLAIN: Approximately 85 acres (±22%) is within the 100-year flood plain of Antelope Creek according to FEMA Panel No. 48411C0025 dated July 2, 1991.
EASEMENTS: Typical utility easements for water, electricity and telephone/internet service.
IMPROVEMENTS: The historic home is situated on the northeast portion of the property about ±250 feet from the road frontage. This wood frame dwelling contains 2,325 SF covered by a composition shingle roof. The unique exterior walls are covered by a petrified wood veneer. Covered porches located on the northern and southeastern elevations of the dwelling combine for a total of 421 SF. The structure is divided into east and west portions with a sunroom hallway connecting the two areas. The main living area is located on the east end and is built on a pier and beam foundation, making up about 75% of the overall structure. The sunroom and secondary living space form the balance of the dwelling and are built over a concrete slab. The house provides four bedrooms and two baths along with a kitchen, dining area, living room and utility room. Window units provide air conditioning while heating is provided by two fireplaces and space heaters.
A matching two-story 1,220 SF detached garage is connected to the house by a covered breezeway. The ground level contains 610 SF with two parking bays accessed by overhead garage doors. The upper level is accessed by an exterior staircase and consists of an apartment/game room with a closet and full bathroom.
These structures were reportedly built in the mid-1940’s and with a little work could be restored to reveal their true character. The owners have historically used the dwelling for extended weekend stays.
Site improvements include a network of earthen pasture roads and fencing. The low-fenced perimeter is a mixture of barbed and net wire on a combination of wood and steel posts. The fences range from good to fair condition.
COMMENTS: Antelope Creek meanders for about 1½ miles through the property draining from south to north. The northern ¼-mile stretch of this stream is fed by an artesian well on the property which trickles a steady flow of water for about 700 feet along a draw to the creek bed, keeping this portion of the creek wet throughout the year. The remaining southern stretch of Antelope Creek provides wet-weather flows over a sandy gravel bottom, contributing to land diversity and wildlife habitat. Several earthen stock tanks are distributed throughout the property for livestock water and provide a combined ±¾-acre of surface water when full. A soil conservation lake (known as Southeast Laterals Watershed Reservoir No. 4) is located mostly on the neighbor's property to the west. The lake dam is located inside the western boundary with a narrow sliver of the lake being inside the property’s boundary line. The property’s upland portions reveal a desirable mixture of scattered to densely wooded native pasture with remnants of approximately 120 acres of former coastal fields spread through the middle of the tract. While the fields have reverted to re-growth mesquite pasture, they could be restored for grazing or strategically cleared for use as food plots. Either way the old fields facilitate habitat edge effect for wildlife. A mixture of oak, elm, hackberry and mesquite trees provide shade canopies with greater densities observed along the drainage ways and sloped areas. The level to gently rolling topography produces about 70 feet of total elevation change over sandy loam soils.
